Full Testing Life Cycle/Test Process/Job Of A Tester

  1. Get Business Requirements/Functional Specification/Master Documents
  2. Prepare Test Plan
  3. Write Test Cases (Also, it may include USE CASES from the client)
  4. Conduct Testing (Manual and/or Automated)(Manual - Various Types of Testing
    Unit, Integration, System, Front End, Back End, Stress, Load, Performance, Volume, Security etc.) (Automated - Automated ToolsWinRuner, LoadRuner, QTP, Rational, Silk, etc.)
  5. Find Bugs
  6. Bug ReportingTest Director, PVCS, Locally Developed, or Excel Sheet/Access Tables
  7. Bug to be fixedBy Developers or by White Box Testers
  8. Regression Testing (Manual or Automated) [Again this step may lead a tester to write more test cases or rewrite previous test cases]
